Injuries we treat
Injuries in performing artists sometimes differ from those that athletes experience in recreational sports such as football, soccer and basketball. Performing artists move their bodies in unique ways, often requiring more flexibility. For instance, a common injury among dancers that our specially trained therapists treat is FHL tendinopathy, a foot and ankle injury. Some of the injuries we commonly see are:
We properly identify your injuries and develop a personalized program that returns you to your activities as soon as possible. Sometimes, you may have significant injuries that require a longer recovery. In that case, we gradually reintegrate you those activities through physical therapy exercises with a focus on preventing any setbacks and helping ensure a full recovery.
Preventive screenings
To help avoid injuries, we perform preventive screenings to evaluate your strength, flexibility and technique. Based on our findings, we provide tips and educational information to help strengthen muscles used on a regular basis, enhance your technique and partner with you to develop a healthy rest regimen.
Our team works with many companies offering around-the-clock preventative care to performers. As a result, companies are able to dramatically reduce the amount of injuries they see in their performers throughout the year. Contact us to learn more about our preventative care services.
