Kessler Rehabilitation Center, the outpatient division of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, collaborated with Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Inc., a non-profit organization working with local corporations, to provide packages to the military in Afghanistan and Iraq during the holidays.

Contributions from staff members from Kessler's outpatient centers and the outpatient divisions of Kessler's three hospital campuses resulted in a donation of 100 boxes containing decorations, magazines, nutritious treats, games and gifts to be shipped to members of the Joint Task Force Paladin. These troops are a division of the EOD-Explosive Ordnance Device and Bomb Disposal and conduct the dangerous work of defusing bombs throughout remote areas of Afghanistan.

According to Emily Novellino, Regional Marketing Director, who coordinated this effort, "Although many of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are making their way home, many still remain, and for some it marks another holiday season away from loved ones and holiday traditions. To make things a little brighter for those still deployed, employees at KRC have joined together to support this important cause."
